Welcome to Attagoyuk Ilisavik!
We are a grade six to 12 school located in Pangnirtung, Nunavut. Pangnirtung is about 50 kilometres south of the Arctic Circle on the southern part of Baffin Island. We are a one-hour flight from Iqaluit.
We have about 200 students and over 20 staff members at our school. We work closely with the District Education Authority (DEA) and Qikiqtani School Operations (QSO) to meet our students' educational needs.

The mission of Attagoyuk Ilisavik is to ensure each of our students develops into an able human being, with the skills, confidence and cultural pride to become a lifelong learner and positively contribute to his or her community.
Attagoyuk is a grade six to 12 school. Our students range from 11 years old up to around 18 years old. Students who are 20 years old or older and wish to continue with their high school studies generally need permission from the local District Education Authority.
Almost all of our students are Inuit and have grown up in Pangnirtung.

The Department of Education and the Nunavut Teachers' Association are currently developing a formal mentor program. It will be available to new teachers at a later date.
