Welcome to the school profile for Tuugaalik High School. This school was recently built and will be open for August 2016. More information will be available once it is fully staffed. The school is supervised by the Kivalliq School Operations (KivSO).
The teaching and administrative staffs generally consist of the following positions, but these designations can fluctuate on a yearly basis:
1- Principal
1- Teaching Vice-Principal
1- Learning Coach
1- Student Support Teacher (SST)
1- Language Specialist
8- Teachers
There's a total of about 13 (Nunavut Teachers' Association, NTA) positions as listed above, and 7 positions that consist of the support staff, such as the secretary, janitors, and any non-NTA positions.
Check with your principal to determine if an orientation will be provided to new and returning staff.
The Department of Education and the Nunavut Teachers' Association are currently developing a formal mentor program. It will be available to new teachers at a later date.
